I sent this painting to the Mayor. I hope it gets past security and he actually sees it. I wrote him a nice little letter too about arts and funding... fundamentally, I said we don't really need grants, we just want people to buy our works so that we earn some money... as the Mayor of Ottawa, it would be nice if he would set an example... (ah well). I think this never got through to him and it got blown up by security... such is life.

I had to fix my garage. There were big holes and it needed major patching. So I did.
It is nice having such a big canvas.

Fairies...
I love fairies. I love little babies and children... and hiding them amongst the flowers. This is fun.

August 2008
I'm working on a painting of my daughter's ballet class... her end of the year photo-day. Very intricate... Very hard to get the girls to look like the girls in her class. My daughter is easy... I have painted and drawn her face so many times i can do it with my eyes closed...but the other girls? That's a different story. They are tough. Anyways... I'll post it when I'm done.

July 2008
It is July here in the Capital, and that means my flower garden is full of poppies.
I love poppies. They are so RED. I am an Aries, need I say more?
Anyways, I got rid of all the onion paintings (Niagara-on-the-lake), so now I'm painting poppies. If anyone's interested in buying any of these, they're 200 bucks, unframed. So, come and get'em. Steph? I you're reading this, here's your chance. I won't paint any more till next July.

January 2008
Christmas... I love Christmas. Lot's of people gave me art books for Christmas... for 'inspiration' they said.
Well, it worked. I got a box, covered it with a blue pillowcase and stuck a bunch of onions on it. Then I started painting a series of 'in the style of...'.
What a fun study.

Okay, that's enough. I'm sick of onions. Don't want to paint them anymore.
Christmas vacation is over and I have to go back to work anyways.
